February 2018 Chapter Meeting
The Value & Integrity of Data
Silver Cloud Broadway, Seattle
Tuesday, February 13th, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Speaker Todd Stabelfeldt
We know data is valuable, what are we doing to ensure its integrity
In the world of laboratories, whether in hospitals, clinics, or at independent sites, there is a quietly growing threat. It’s one that ultimately threatens the patient and their health information. The reason this issue is such a serious threat is the fact that there are millions of database servers still using antiquated software toolsets nearing end of support. Administrators are struggling to weigh the magnitude of fines they may incur versus the cost of keeping systems current with industry standards.
What You Will Learn:
A glimpse into the balancing act of the medical IT industry and the number of independent database systems they support. ISVs demand vertical requirements and control the upgrade schedule which falls short of the best practices of the IT industry. A fitting way to gauge the importance of where it ranks, and its cost to the organization. Better understand the root cause of not upgrading systems and software.
