Michael Mueller:  President

Mike has been an active member in Puget Sound DAMA since 2011 and has served on the DAMA Board.  As an accomplished leader with over 27 years of Data Management experience and complementary expertise in business operations, process improvement, organizational transformation, data governance and technology innovation, he brings a wealth of business-focused information management capabilities and practical execution know-how. He believes his broad work experience in business data operations together with his program management expertise will help the DAMA Puget Sound Chapter continue to grow in membership and relevance to the local data community. 
 

ChaiJen To: Vice President of Operations

ChaiJen is a consultant on data warehousing, data architecture, and database development for Global 1000 companies and mid-size organizations. He has designed or helped design and implemented data warehouse projects with Big Data or in a SOA environment for cyber security, banking, telecommunication, retail, software, and manufacturing industries. ChaiJen has written over 1000 database objects and delivers quality works with data integrity for enterprise data management and business intelligence systems. He is a CDMP, CBIP, and is active in TDWI, IASA and Big Data events.   

Jay Gardener: Co-Vice President of Programs and Education

Jay has been involved with data management for over 20 years, and with DAMA-PS since 2006. He has worked in many different database and systems integration roles. Starting out with geographic information systems and document management systems, moving on to finance and retail OLTP systems, then to data warehousing, OLAP and business intelligence, Jay passionately strives to maintain best practices in managing the underlying data. His current interests are Enterprise Business Intelligence, Big Data and advanced Data Visualization.

Anand Divekar: Co-Vice President of Programs & Education

Anand has been a member of DAMA Puget Sound since 2014. He has worked in the high-tech industry in software development, information management and governance of large enterprise IT projects for a variety of industries as a management consultant. Key focus areas include strategy, program management, process transformation, business architecture, data analysis and people leadership. He has also provided M&A advisory and transaction services to private equity and mid-market companies and their CEOs.

BK has over 20 years of experience in IT, including 13 years of working in the areas of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. He had received awards from the Governor and an international industry association for the technology innovation when working in a state agency. BK has designed, or helped design and implemented enterprise-wide data warehouse projects in finance, academic, HR, and other subject areas. He has extensive experiences in the planning, PM, and data design of the data warehousing. He has played leadership roles for the analysis and the design of the enterprise data warehousing solutions in higher education setting. He was a senior budget professional in a state agency before working in IT. BK is a strong believer of the values of the local data community in helping the growth of the profession and the professionals. He has participated in the DAMA-PS activities in the last several years.    

Kangana Beri Anand: Co-Vice President of Finances

Kangana is a 15 year data professional with 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. She believes in data driven decision making and is passionate about getting the right data to the right people. Kangana has been leading and mentoring teams, and developing business user relationships to drive understanding of data needs and adoption of analytics. She has been a member of DAMA-PS since 2015 and holds CDMP certification. She is looking to serve and learn from the data management community.

Fei Guo: Co-Vice President of Marketing

Fei has been an active member at DAMA Puget Sound since 2013 and has served on the DAMA Board. She recently graduated from the Master of Science in Information Management program at the University of Washington. She was born and raised in Beijing, China and moved to Seattle in 2007. She is active in the Chinese community in Greater Seattle area and is proud to support and promote her cultural background. Fei believes her excellent energy, as well as her diverse work experience in marketing and technology will contribute to the DAMA Puget Sound Chapter.

Veronika Kalmar:  Co-VP of Marketing

Veronika discovered data management as a technical communicator and continues to approach projects from an information-design and user-first perspective. As a technical communicator at Boeing, she designed a content management system used by the creative services group and led and designed a leadership knowledge management system that incorporated Verity K2 information retrieval, social media and a portal.

After returning to the University of Washington to complete a Masters in Information Management, she became a systems-and-data analyst at Boeing where she specializes in business information architecture, search, content management and portals as well as in process management.

In her spare time, Veronika studies analytics and herbal healing. She also volunteers for, and serves on the board of, the Burien Actors Theatre.

Jean Nichols: Co-Vice President of Communications

Jean has 25+ working for local companies in IT with a specific emphasis on managing financial business systems.     A key focus of Jean’s role over the years has been planning, designing, developing, launching and maintaining efficient and effective financial system solutions that support organization business processes.   Additional emphasis and a very critical component in all financial systems that Jean has managed has been the data from how data gets input into the systems, the security and controls that get executed within the systems and the outputs that get generated through reporting and business intelligence solutions.   Jean has been a member of DAMA since 2011.   Jean is looking to increase her involvement in the DAMA organization.

Michael Stillings: Co-Vice President of Communications

Mike has been working in Data Management and Analytics for 14 years and been a member of Puget Sound DAMA for five years. He has also developed engineering, database and web applications, consulted external and internal customers, taught classes and been a team, project and technical leader and mentor. He enjoys technical writing and other forms of disseminating information and knowledge. He has worked in the aerospace industry for 32 years. Mike has architected and designed the end-to-end process for taking in value-added data on one end and performing all the steps required to release cleansed and integrated data out the other end for data scientists and engineers. He has also facilitated Decision Support via Data Warehouse-based Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics products.

Uzma Khan: Co-Vice President of Membership

Uzma has over 20 years of experience in IT with 15+ years of experience working in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. She has proven ability to work with business leaders to create data architecture that provide metrics based on relevant and actionable data. Uzma is adept at developing reliable proof of concepts and clearly articulating recommendations to leadership.  Uzma has been recognized by her peers and leadership for her technical expertise and ability to mentor others.  Uzma also has specialized expertise in data analytics, validation and test with significant successes in cross-functional collaboration.  Uzma’s knowledge of multiple databases, technologies, tools, software languages and environments along with her desire to remain in technical leadership roles within Data Warehousing and Analytics will make for an excellent addition to the DAMA-PS Board.

Larry Liang: Co-Vice President of Membership

Larry Liang has been an active member in Puget Sound DAMA and in TDWI and Big Data events as well since 2013. Larry Liang has solid experience with all phases of data warehouse/business intelligence development lifecycle from gathering requirements to design, testing, implementation and support of data assets including data warehouse, real time database, and metadata. He earned master degree in Computer Science specializing in data mining and data warehousing in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets. He is a fully Certified IBM Cognos BI consultant for telcom, insurance, retail, and mortgage.

Baris Paraskeva: Co-Vice President Special Events

Baris has over 20 years’ experience in the aerospace and IT industries. Originally from the UK, he found himself assigned to a project in Texas for five years, after which he moved to the Puget Sound area to work as a consultant supporting mostly fortune 500 companies with data management, business process management and improvement, data analysis, machine learning and data visualization problems. Having found that most of his projects involve the principles of data management he has developed an interest in helping local companies handle their data management and visualization challenges and he shares the values of DAMA. He has held several leadership positions over his career and plans to use his experience to contribute to the DAMA-PS Board.

Benjamin Lemul Rogojan: Co-Vice President of Special Events

Ben started attending DAMA meetings in 2015 the same year he graduated with a degree in Information Systems from the University of Washington. In his final two years as an undergrad he worked as an instructor teaching JavaScript and coding principles to kids. He got his first corporate job at Providence Health and Services where he currently works developing new applications and analytical reports to help the finance and IS department. Prior to his role in technology Ben spent 6+ years in fine dining. This includes working as a cook at The Herbfarm and Café Juanita, as well as orchestrating a few pop-ups around Seattle. He enjoys having a diverse background in skill sets and continues to throw events and dinners whenever he can. Whether it be a close group of friends or for a party of 80.

Jason Williams: Co-Vice President of Special Events

Jason is moving to a new role on the DAMA-PS Board with the opportunity to gain leadership experience and to gain developmental qualities from the appointment to the board. He would bring qualities to this position such as: Communication, Organization and Open-Mindedness. He welcomes the challenge to learn more and navigate through the complex world of Data Management.

Alex Carr: Co-Vice President of Special Events

Alex Carr is currently the Vice President for US & Canada at Cloud2b, Inc., a Platinum Partner of Salesforce.com (the world’s #1 CRM platform), leading the company’s sales, customer support and consulting services organizations in North America.    Carr has led winning sales, consulting, alliances and engineering teams for nearly 20 years. His gained experience working for  companies like: salesforce.com, Forrester Research, PwC, IBM and Oracle.    He holds a M.S. in Organization Leadership from Nichols College, Massachusetts and a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Brasilia.   Carr ran 10 marathons, is devoted to biographies and is a wine connoisseur.
