Jeff has 20+ years data management experience, including at Experian Information Solutions, DeepData, World Vision and Sila Solutions Group. He has held several leadership roles including 9 years form President/CEO of DeepData; Consulting Lead at Sila Solutions Group; Project Management in various capacities and as an Operations Director. He holds a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Practitioner certificate, as well as in Data Science, Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement Methodology, and is a certified Scrum Master. Jeff has a desire to lead the strategic direction of DAMA-PS with a team of committed members in order to proactively grow DAMA-PS presence in the Puget Sound area.
Mike has been an active member in Puget Sound DAMA since 2011 and has served on the DAMA Board. As an accomplished leader with over 27 years of Data Management experience and complementary expertise in business operations, process improvement, organizational transformation, data governance and technology innovation, he brings a wealth of business-focused information management capabilities and practical execution know-how. He believes his broad work experience in business data operations together with his program management expertise will help the DAMA Puget Sound Chapter continue to grow in membership and relevance to the local data community.
ChaiJen is a consultant on both traditional and Cloud data architecture, for Global 1000 companies and mid-size organizations. He has designed or helped design and implemented CRM and data warehouse projects with Big Data or in a SOA environment for cyber security, banking, telecommunication, retail, workforce, and manufacturing industries. ChaiJen has written over 1000 db objects and design scalable solution on Cloud MPP with data integrity for enterprise data management and business intelligence systems. He is a CDP, CDMP, CBIP, and is active in TDWI, ISSA and AI events.
Luisa Recalcati is a technology executive with proven success directing high profile programs. Experienced in Data Management and Enterprise Architecture, Web Application, CRM, Asset Reusability, transaction processing, E-commerce, and Advanced Metadata Repository. She has a consistent history of developing innovative solutions that enable business growth. She is experienced at leading top-performing teams in application and system integration, design, and development.
She joined Microsoft in 2007 and worked in the Microsoft IT department as an Enterprise Data Architect. In this capacity, she leads the Integrated Data Management initiative, and gained a certification as Data Management Expert by the CMMI Institute. She authored the Architectural Approach portion of the DMM (Data Management Maturity Model)
Previous roles included: Chief Data Architect for Washington Mutual, Chief Technology Officer for SmartContractor, an internet startup company in Seattle. Luisa began her career at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Milan Italy, as a field engineer supporting real time and time sharing operating systems. She then relocated to the DEC European Technical Center in Sophia Antipolis (South of France) where she consulted on large transaction processing and database applications for major European customers.
She holds a Diploma in Programming and Accounting from "Istituto Mose' Bianchi" in Monza Milan Italy.
Valentina Haack: Co-Vice President of Programs and Education
Valentina Haack has a 20+ year career with strong data management at the core of all successful deliveries. As a strategic transformation leader who fosters innovation to ensure growth. Valentina consistently supplied relevant business value for numerous organizations in Canada and in the US across various private and public sectors. The past 12 years at Microsoft Valentina has lead change to divisional re-architecting, design of strategies, enablement of new business models, adoption/execution of Enterprise Architecture methodologies, and the delivery of noteworthy operational excellence efforts. Valentina brings to DAMA her insatiable curiosity to learn, adapt and share.
Patrick has 18+ years of IT experience and has been a Product Data Management specialist at Boeing for the last 4 years.
Patrick was CEO and founder of a business from 1997 – 2007 and has been a local member of DAMA PS for over a year.
He has been Vice Commander of the Sons of American Legion post 141. He has been involved in several leadership positions in several Fraternal Orders and am familiar with Roberts Rules of Order. Patrick currently is a member in good standing of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Freeland, WA.). Patrick is familiar with preparing income tax reports (IRS 990) for non-profit organizations, and can prepare an annual report.
Theron Jaquez is a financial system analyst managing Oracle Hyperion (OLAP) at World Vision. Prior to joining WV in 2007, he held positions with Microsoft, Premera Blue Cross, United HealthCare, and served in the US Navy. He came to WV with 10 years of experience in the actuarial field where he designed data warehouses, measured liabilities, and conducted ROI and provider profiling studies.
Theron uses his prior business experience and understanding of data systems to bridge the information gap (knowledge, comfort, delivery, etc.) between IT (data source) and the business (data consumer). He holds a BA in math from Amherst College and an MBA from the University of Washington.
Mike has been working in Data Management and Analytics for 14 years and been a member of Puget Sound DAMA for five years. He has also developed engineering, database and web applications, consulted external and internal customers, taught classes and been a team, project and technical leader and mentor. He enjoys technical writing and other forms of disseminating information and knowledge. He has worked in the aerospace industry for 32 years. Mike has architected and designed the end-to-end process for taking in value-added data on one end and performing all the steps required to release cleansed and integrated data out the other end for data scientists and engineers. He has also facilitated Decision Support via Data Warehouse-based Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics products.
Laura Roy: Co-Vice President of Communications
Laura Roy has been working in data related roles for over 25 years. She brings with her 18+ years of leadership experience in the areas of data governance, data management, data architecture, information technology, and business enablement. Laura is currently at Starbucks where she is establishing their Enterprise Data Quality Program. She is most excited for this opportunity with DAMA-PS as it allows her to meet new people and continue to expand her knowledge and perspective.
Dawn started her IT professional career in the Bellevue/Seattle area since 1998. She started as a Software Design Engineer, Web Database developer, Middle Tier Application developer, but later moved onto Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Analytics world – always combined with Data Management practice in her career. As a BI Architect with a curious mind, she loves to participate in professional events, learn from others, compare technology from different vendors and methodology, and changing the impossible to possible. She reviews the engineering process as an art and enjoys the beauty of the different processes. Her current role is a BI Architect Manager at NAES. She is a CBIP, CDMP, and looking to serve and learn from DAMA PS community.
Larry Liang has been an active member in Puget Sound DAMA and in TDWI and Big Data events as well since 2013. Larry Liang has solid experience with all phases of data warehouse/business intelligence development lifecycle from gathering requirements to design, testing, implementation and support of data assets including data warehouse, real time database, and metadata. He earned master degree in Computer Science specializing in data mining and data warehousing in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets. He is a fully Certified IBM Cognos BI consultant for telecom, insurance, retail, and mortgage.
Stacey Lee: Co-VP of Marketing
Stacey Lee possesses 10+ years of experience in Business Development and Enterprise Sales in the technology industry. She has worked with teams of Data & Analytics industry experts to engage with clients to define data strategy, implement best practices in governance, and execute data management programs from department specific projects to enterprise-wide operations. Stacey has held leadership roles such as Director of Development & Marketing, Sr. Account Manager, and Sr. Manager, Business Development at LiquidHub, a Data & Analytic Studio.
Stacie Benton: Co-Vice President of Membership
Stacie Benton, CDMP, is the Enterprise Data Governance Practice Lead at Starbucks Coffee Company. Stacie is leading efforts to streamline and empower data governance efforts across all key business subject areas to support a growing global presence. She's been engaged in establishing Enterprise Information Management capabilities to deliver on business information needs such as next-gen marketing efforts, Enterprise Data Catalog, regulatory and privacy compliance, and Digital Platforms.
With over 20 years of experience, Stacie was an Information Architect for Microsoft and an Enterprise Information Architect for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she established Data Governance programs and designed information platforms, facilitating and mentoring the organization's transformation to data-driven culture. She started her career as a developer then moved from program management into data as a result of her passion for connecting business and technology.
She's a regular speaker at Steve Hoberman's Data Modeling Zone and has presented many times at Microsoft's Sales professionals conference, Ready, as well at DAMA Puget Sound chapter meetings.
