February 2020 Chapter Meeting

The Evolution of Analytical Job Roles

Speaker: Billy Tilson

Tuesday, February 11th

With the rise of Big Data, new roles have emerged. Surprisingly, many companies have not kept up with this evolution. They do not have the right job definitions, training, and organizations to effectively keep up with the increasing demand to spin large, semi-structured, fast-moving data into insight gold. Often, employees get stuck spending most of their time on work that is outside their expertise and passion.

What You'll Learn

You will identify and understand these issues and provide guidance on how to build analytic teams for the new Big Data world.

Speaker Profile

Mr. Tilson has spent 18+ years implementing enterprise data solutions for Fortune 500 companies. He is deeply passionate about data-driven culture, agile delivery, and data governance. He has spent the past year at GoDaddy modernizing their data architecture in the cloud. Before that, he was at Amazon where he led the re-definition of its analytical job families, founded Analyticon, an internal 2,000+ person conference, and built the data organization and infrastructure that enabled the lending business to scale exponentially.
