The healthcare industry traditionally has lagged other industries on the rate and pace of adopting digital technologies. Amid a global pandemic that is testing all aspects of the healthcare ecosystem, the importance of safe, efficient, effective, equitable care delivery is on center stage. We will discuss the challenges and opportunities of healthcare data ecosystem and the impact it has on the human experience for the foreseeable future. We will explore the influence of federal policy, interoperability mandates, data standards and practitioner skills that have the ability to deliver a better, connected care experience for people in the United States.

Austin Walsh is the Managing Director for Microsoft’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Data and AI business for the United States. He has trained as an informaticist, attending University of San Francisco’s Nursing and School of Health Professions (SONHP) and is responsible for enabling healthcare organization’s successful use of Microsoft’s Data and Artificial Intelligence.
