Data Modeling for the Business: T
he Power of High-Level Data Models
Achieving a ‘single version of the truth’ is critical to any MDM, DW, or data integration initiative. But have you ever tried to get people to agree on a single definition of "customer"? Or to get Sales, Marketing, and IT to agree on a target audience? Whether you are a businessperson or an IT professional, you can be the hero of these and countless other scenarios by building a high-level data model.
Join author Donna Burbank as she discusses how a high-level data model can be used as a powerful communication tool for data-intensive initiatives. She’ll explain how to build a high-level data model, how the core concepts in a data model can have significant business impact on an organization, and will provide some easy-to-use templates and guidelines for a step-by-step approach to implementing a high-level data model in your organization, as well as a case study.
Attendees will be entered into a prize drawing for Donna's latest book,
Data Modeling for the Business: A Handbook for Aligning the Business with IT using High-Level Data Models
, coauthored with Steve Hoberman and Chris Bradley.
