March 2019 Chapter Meeting

Why Data Management is Even More Critical

Than It’s Ever Been

Speaker: Glenn Fourie, Concur

Tuesday, March 12th

The intersection of data and regulations make data management more important now than ever before. The advent of highly consequential regulations like the European Global Data Protection Requirements (GDPR)  and emerging state regulations like those California, now require companies to rely heavily on managing critical  data consistently and in a very controlled manner. This presentation will look at a few of these requirements as use cases. This will be presented from a data management perspective. We will look at the value-add role the data management office needs to play to mitigate risk and how to engage executives to increasingly engage in this issue.
