Democratizing Data with Metadata at T-Mobile

Speaker: Nellie McBride, Senior Manager, Data Governance Office

Tuesday, September 17th

Find out how data governance has transformed T-Mobile’s reporting and analytics capabilities through better understanding of data across the enterprise. Nellie McBride, who leads T-Mobile’s Data Governance Organization, will share insights on user-centric approaches to enhancing collection and use of metadata through a Data Catalog, plans for next generation metadata management capabilities, and methods for driving change, stakeholder engagement, and adoption of metadata tools. You will learn innovative approaches that utilize principles of user-centered design, technology, and change management to drive data governance success.

Nellie is responsible for defining the data governance frameworks and data standards used to manage data assets across the company, as well as the overall operating model (roles, processes and tools.)  Nellie is a strategic partner and dynamic change leader who has built new enterprise data governance capabilities, products and services for T-Mobile.

These new capabilities include enterprise metadata management to drive faster business insights, data classification tools and processes to reduce enterprise data security risk as well as privacy solutions for meeting increasingly demanding US privacy landscape. Before leading the Enterprise Data Governance Office, Nellie held several leadership roles in IT including BI Solution Delivery, Portfolio Management and Agile Delivery COE and has several years of large-scale program delivery experience.
