_______________________________________ With the lazy days of summer nearly over, many people are wondering how to kick start their careers. For people in technology fields, the best place to gather new career tools is at the Fremont Technical Career Boot Camp on August 21s, from 4 pm to 9pm. Organized by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Association for Women in Computing, the boot camp addresses the needs of recent graduates and professionals who are ready to start or reinvigorate their careers. Although technical skills are in huge demand, that demand doesn’t always translate into a life-long career or a competitive salary. During the boot camp, IT managers and HR professionals will be onsite and taking appointments for individual resume and interviewing reviews. A series of presentations and panels will provide information critical to creating a successful career strategy and navigating career transitions: • Determining One’s Economic Worth • How to Impress A Recruiter • Roles and Career Paths in Technology • The Seattle Tech Scene: What is HOT and What is Not • When is it time to Get the Heck Out Of IT? • Personalized Interview Feedback and Resume Review sessions Featured presenters include Emily Parkhurst of the Puget Sound Business Journal and Dianne Juhl of The Feminine Face of Money.
